AVSP values the safety of each community member. Individuals that participate in certain fitness programs will be required to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) form prior to participation.

Fitness Assessments

Take advantage of this free assessment for members new to fitness or seasoned athletes. During your assessment, you and your Certified Personal Trainer will discuss specific fitness goals, health history, dietary habits, current exercise routine, and your mindset. Your CPT will also take you through specific exercises in order to assess your current fitness level. Based on the results, they will make recommendations about which Personal Training package can best help you reach your goals!

We take great pride in the fact that all of our trainers are either certified through a nationally recognized organization, have a college degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, or both.
 
Our trainers have a proven track record of coaching clients to achieve their personal fitness goals.

Take advantage of this free assessment for members new to fitness or seasoned athletes.   • For those looking for a more intense, shorter workout we offer our Express Sessions that are 30 minute high intensity bouts that are perfect for increasing cardiovascular endurance, improving body composition, and testing your fitness levels.
     
  • The 1–hour Traditional Session of individualized personal training is perfect for those wanting to increase their lean, skeletal muscle mass or for individuals in need of gaining strength and stability.
     
  • Partner Training is perfect for members who would like to share the experience with a friend or relative. These sessions are also an hour in length. Get ready to sweat together!
     
  • Small Group Training is an affordable and great way to share your fitness experience with 2-4 other friends/family members!  These sessions are an hour long.
Specialty Training
  • Fitness Training for the Sport of Golf 
    Learn how to increase your strength, increase your club head speed, eliminate fatigue, prevent injuries and add distance to every club in your bag. Our Certified Golf Fitness Specialist Trainer can help you take your game to the next level.
     
  • Fitness Training for the Seniors 
    Strength training will help you stay active and independent as long as possible. When you work with one of our Senior Fitness Specialists regularly, you will build muscle, get stronger and increase flexibility which can help with coordination, balance, and overall mobility.

  • PT Packages are non-transferable and non-refundable. 
  • Unused sessions expire one year from purchase date.
  • Appointments must be cancelled 24 hours in advance or you will be charged for session. 
  • Non-members are eligible to participate in Personal Training Programs including Fitness Assessments and Exceed Foundations. (non-resident fees apply)

Youth Fitness
 
AVSP has many fitness programs designed specifically for the kids, pre-teens, and teens of the community. The complete youth fitness schedule can be viewed by clicking the Fitness Schedule link on the left-side of the page.
 
 
Designated TWT hours 
School Year Hours: Monday - Thursday 430p-630p  
Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 930a-1130a 
(NO Teen Hours on National Holidays)
 
Teenagers between the ages of 12-15, are able to use the weight room & cardio area under the supervision of one of our Personal Trainers or Fitness Attendants during the designated time if they are teen weight trained certified.
 
The Teen Weight Training (TWT) certification takes approx 30-45 mins. Parents are not required to participate in the Teen Weight Training session. There is a one time cost of $35.00. During this session, the instructor will review gym and teen weight training rules and policies, talk about basic gym etiquette, go over general strength training principles, and then conduct a tour of the gym floor.

Once your child has been Teen Weight Trained certified, they can use the weight room without parental supervision during designated TWT fitness hours ONLY.
 
Please note: Any time other than TWT hours, they must be under the direct supervision of the parent (which means the parent must be near enough to observe and assist if needed) if they are teen weight trained certified.
 
 
Below is the AVSP age restriction information that can be found on the gym signage and also within the AVSP member handbook: 
  • Age 11 & Under: Not allowed to use/be in Cardio or Weight areas. 
  • Age 12 - 13: Require Teen Weight Training Certification and Parental or Personal Trainer Supervision needed to use Cardio and Weight Equipment.
  • Age 14-15: Can use Cardio unsupervised. Needs Teen Weight Training Certification and Parental or Personal Trainer Supervision for Weight Floor.
  • Age 16+: Can use Cardio and Weight Floor Unsupervised.
 
 

Active Adult Fitness

AVSP offers a variety of active adult classes to both members and non-members of the community. Non-members must pay $10/class to participate. Payment can be made at the AVSP Front Desk upon arrival for class. Classes designated as Active Adult include:
  • Aqua Exercise
  • Developmental Senior Strength & Balance
  • Beginner Senior Strength & Balance
  • Line Dance for Fitness

Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) Form

Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion values the safety of each community member. Every individual that participates in the personal training program, any fee-based fitness class and/or the teen weight training program at the Sports Pavilion will be required to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) form prior to participation. Legal guardians of participants under the age of 18 will be required to complete the form. The PAR-Q is a screening tool that is commonly used by fitness professionals to determine the safety or possible risk of exercising for an individual based upon answers to the specific health history questions on the form. AVSP is able to better serve the community and increase safety of program participants by utilizing the PAR-Q form.
