Public Schools (LCPS)

Five public schools are available to students from Ashburn Village: Ashburn Elementary, Dominion Trail Elementary, Discovery Elementary, Farmwell Station Middle School, and Broad Run High School.
School age children attending public schools are educated at two elementary schools and a middle school within the boundaries of the subdivision and one elementary school outside of it. All three schools are part of the Loudoun County Public Schools system. Elementary school children (kindergarten through 5th grade) are split between three schools: students residing in the northern part of Ashburn Village attend Ashburn Elementary School, and students living in the southern part attend Dominion Trail Elementary School. A small portion of the southern part attends Discovery Elementary School. Middle School students (6th through 8th grade) attend Farmwell Station Middle School. Students in 9th through 12th grade attend Broad Run High School, located directly south of the community.

Additional information for all five schools can be found below:

“Effort Creates Achievement.”
Our part in the lifelong process of education is to contribute to the development of attitudes, habits, skills, knowledge, and understanding necessary for meeting life situations effectively in a changing society. Maximum development can best be achieved when teachers and parents work together to help children accept their share of responsibility for learning. Our school environment combines structure and spontaneity. Students are valued and given opportunities for success. They face the future with curiosity and confidence as they learn a variety of socially appropriate responses to life.
Empowering all students to make meaningful contributions to the world.

Mission Statement
Broad Run High School is a diverse community of lifelong learners where students, parents, and faculty work together to promote each individual's achievement and character through empowering relationships.
Our Beliefs:
A student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff.

Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process and have appropriate opportunities for success.

A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.

Students learn in different ways and can achieve and succeed.

Each student is a valued individual with unique social, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.
Teachers, parents, and the community share the responsibility for the support of the school's mission.

Students learn to make appropriate decisions when given a supportive and challenging learning environment.

Instructional practices should incorporate learning activities that take into account differences in learning styles.

Challenging expectations increase individual student performance.
