- 1300 pole lights that we repair and replace
- over 500 street signs that we are responsible for
- 8 playgrounds and 3 Clubhouses
- 8 lakes that we maintain and restock (VA Water and Wetlands inspects and maintains all lakes twice a month)
- 19 tennis courts, and we are adding pickleball to the courts.
- 1 baseball field (the association rents out for local team usage not during COVID)
- 2 volleyball sand courts with new sand poured each year
- 4 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool
- over 16 miles of asphalt trails, and we added a new trail in 2020 around the Mills field.
The Pavilion is owned by Ashburn Village, however it is managed by WTS. The General Manager is Gayle Terrio. Gayle and the Ashburn Village General Manager work together on a daily basis to keep the facilities up-to-date and keep the programs running smoothly.

We hope everyone had a great snow week. In closing the books on 2020, Management and the Board would like to recognize the Committees that are essential to the HOA.
AERC Committee – Nicole James Chair
In 2020 the HOA office received 992 exterior applications. During COVID and the lockdown, our residents were busy sprucing up, repairing and adding enhancements to their homes.
When an application is submitted online it goes directly to Alexis here in the office. She then emails the resident to say we have your application and will be in contact. During this process Alexis will review and determine if the application is complete. She will then contact the owner for the missing or needed information. Irene the Covenants Manager and Alexis will do the final review and then scan and send everything to the AERC Committee. The applications are approved or denied per AVCA guidelines.
The Committee then reviews Covenants comments and will visit the site or make recommendations, if needed. This process involves a lot of volunteer time from our AWESOME Committee. Nicole James, Lee Chandler, Adam Pierre, Jason Hart, Ahmed Morsi, Katie Kovach, Peter Fornecker - Committee Volunteers!!! Thank you!
Finance Committee – Jim Heigl Chair
The newly restructured Finance Committee is an essential tool for Management and the Board. Jim is the Chair and leads a great group of financially informed volunteers. They spend multiple hours reviewing statements and advising the Board and Management. The committee, working with the Finance Director Safi, the Board, and Management, help to forecast our spending, Capital Expenditures and Reserves.
Tennis Committee – Denise Bridges Chair
This Committee was brought back in 2020. Denise and Committee are hard at work with Gayle and Ben at the Pavilion to improve our tennis program and to introduce Pickleball to the Community. They meet monthly to provide input to the Board recommending improvements and ideas.
Landscape Committee – Randy Bargiel Chair
In 2020 we were sad to see Laurie Ferguson step down as Chair, as she and Terry Brickerd were the leading force on the revitalization and beautification of the Boulevard. However, we are happy to welcome Randy as the new Chair and look forward to the recommendations he and the Committee will make for 2021.
Events Committee – Gayle Terrio – Stephanie Anderson (and baby Paul)
The Events Committee faced many challenges and obstacles last year. During COVID we cancelled most events, but with the ideas and help from Gayle and the Committee we were able to virtually host a few events. The Committee has planned fun events for 2021 and hopes everyone can attend virtually. A special thanks to Gayle, Katie Myers, Joan Davis and Stephanie Anderson. Due to COVID and socially distancing, planning events for a large Community has been an interesting challenge.
Our Facilities and Grounds team was busy plowing streets and sidewalks this entire week. We are making sure all roads, trails, community sidewalks and bridges are properly plowed and salted. We appreciate our Homeowners patience and positive feedback this week. Snow can make everything stressful. The crew will be removing any downed trees and fixing crooked signs first thing Monday. As always if you see anything that might have been missed, please fill out the Compliments & Concerns form. All snow policy information is available from the home page of the website, under Snow Central.
The Bubble will be taken down the last week in March the beginning week of April. All windscreens will then be placed at the courts.
Board Plans for 2021
The Board will host a working meeting soon to review and recommend a plan moving forward for 2021. This meeting is an open meeting for all homeowners to attend and listen. The date and zoom information will be provided soon.
If you live in the townhomes, the Board and Management are aware there is not enough parking. The main Boulevard is a VDOT road. We can’t assign parking spaces on the Boulevard. We are trying to find some type of solution. When the association was originally built, it was not designed for the volume of cars we now have. This is tricky as we want to ensure any changes would be fair to all homeowners. Unfortunately people monopolize and take spaces for long periods of time and that makes it difficult for guests to park.
Tennis, Tennis and More Tennis
The Tennis Staff here at the Pavilion are hosting a 1st ANNUAL 7.5 Mixed Doubles Tournament - Friday March 5th and Friday March 12th. For more info and to register click here.
Gayle and the Pavilion staff are excited to start hosting virtual for 2021. Events include: Trivia, Scavenger Hunt, Charity Bingo, Cooking Class and Comedy Night! For more info on the events and or to register please visit our events page at www.ashburnvillage.org/events.
