AVCA OFFICE STATUS
The AVCA office will be closing at 11 AM today for a holiday event. We'll be back bright and early on Monday morning.
 
SNOW POLICY UPDATES
The Board of Directors updated the Snow Policy with the sequence in which the areas will be cleared. The sequence of clearing is as follows:
  1. Residential streets owned by the Association
  2. Pavilion parking lot and walkways
  3. HOA Office parking lot and walkways
  4. Rec centers, if they are rented or scheduled to hold an event
  5. Walking paths and sidewalks along Ashburn Village Blvd (from Farmwell Rd to Russell Branch Pkwy) and Gloucester Pkwy (from Ashburn Rd to Marblehead Dr).
  6. Walking paths within the community will be cleared during normal working hours, if necessary. Otherwise, they will be allowed to be cleared naturally by the weather.
 
MANAGER'S REPORT FROM THE BOARD MEETING
Below are the highlights from the November/December 2021 Board of Directors meeting:
  • Approve rehabilitation of pollinator gardens.
  • Approve order of 200 street light posts for installation.
  • Ratify approval of 2022 budget.
  • Approve pool management agreement with Premier Aquatics.
  • Approve updates to the tree policy, featured on www.ashburnvillage.org.
  • Approve updates to the snow policy, featured on www.ashburnvillage.org.
  • Approve meeting virtually until the board decides otherwise.
 
FACILITIES & GROUNDS
  • Repaired 14 street lights
  • Replaced 19 street light poles
  • Repaired Heron Lake foot bridge
 
CHRISTMAS TREE DISPOSAL
Christmas trees will be collected with yard waste on the first two Mondays in January: Monday, January 3rd & 10th. The tree must be free of ornaments and tinsel/garland, and if the tree is over 8 feet in length, it must be cut in half before being placed on the curb.
 
EVENTS
  • Voting is now open for the Ashburn Village Annual Holiday Light Tour. To view the map and listing, see the website. Voting closes at midnight on Wednesday 12/15 and winners will be announced on Thursday 12/16. 
  • Thank you to everyone who adopted an angle from our Salvation Army Angel tree! We were able to gift 50 kids with needed supplies and toys.  
  • Join us for a Virtual Event Committee Meeting this Monday 12/13 at 5pm.

Just a reminder to lock your car doors and keep valuables out of sight to deter “crimes of opportunity”. Please remember to report any suspicious activity by calling the non-emergency line 703-777-1021.
 
Garage Parking in Townhouses
Ashburn Village has limited overflow parking within its streets, which is meant for visitors and extra vehicles. However, there are several residents who do not use their garage for its intended purpose of parking. Please help alleviate parking availability issues by using your garage as your primary parking space and your driveway as the second space.

  • Holiday Tennis Mixer - Friday 12/17 in the tennis bubble, enjoy snacks and drinks while playing tennis with neighbors and AVSP coaches, register online. 
  • Register early for LCPS Winter Break Camp at AVSP before it fills up! Sign up for all 8 days for $30 per day, 7 days $40 per day, 6 days $50 per day or 5 or less days for $60 per day. Email emay@ashburnvillage.org for more info and to register.  
  • Did you know that we are a licensed daycare in the State of Virginia?- AND we have spaces open in our After School Activities Program!
