Friday Updates and Information - May 14, 2021
Posted on May 14, 2021 1:00 PM by AVCA Management
Spring has actually, finally, arrived. No more snow is expected for several months. We ask that you please put away your snow shovels and sleds.
High Sierra is hiring lifeguards for our pools. If your child is 16 and up, we need Lifeguards. They are not allowing the kids from abroad to come over again this year, so there will be a shortage of lifeguards. Have your child contact High Sierra directly for a fun pool job this summer at one of our 5 pools. Have them specify Ashburn Village when applying.
  • All outdoor pools are scheduled to open Saturday, May 29th at 11 am.
  • Up-to-date information can be found on the Pools 2021 page, under the Amenities tab.
  • The pools will be open regular hours with a break every 2 and half hours to wipe down bathrooms.
  • The pools will be open to 50 percent capacity based on the 10 feet in the pool and 6 feet regarding pool furniture. (This may change in June.)
  • The Governor is expected to speak again in June and hopefully will open up more of the restrictions.
  • No pool toys or rafts are permitted. This includes footballs, balls and diving sticks. If your small child has arm floaties that stay on they are permitted. (This may change after the Governor speaks in June.)
Pool Opening Times
11am- 1:30  (30 minute break)
2pm - 4:30   (30 minute break)
5pm – 7:30  (pool closes to clean)
Who are the people in your neighborhood?
Home sales in Ashburn Village are at a record high. More than 275 homes sold in the last 12 months. That means lots of great new neighbors!
If you've lived in the Village for a while – maybe you moved in a few years ago or maybe you've been here since Ashburn Village was built in 1989 – why not welcome your new neighbors and introduce yourself! Encourage them to sign up for the weekly emails and register for the website, so they can make the most of living in the Village.
If you are a new Homeowner, check out the Welcome New Homeowners page on the website for information about living in the Village, a list of our great amenities, and a link to the New Homeowner Information form.
Our trash service provider, Republic Services, has updated their guidance on how to dispose of large household items, such as old furniture, appliances or other heavy objects. The bulk pick-up day is now Monday and all pickups must be scheduled with Republic Services in advance. Consider calling a local charity for free pick-up of still usable items.
See Trash & Recycling page on the website for more information.
Plastic bags are no longer allowed for yard waste. Please use either compostable paper bags or a toter, labeled as YARD DEBRIS ONLY, for grass clippings and leaves.
Any plastic bags left out will not be picked up as yard waste and Republic Services will place a sticker on the bags to let you know about the change in policy.
See Trash & Recycling page on the website for more information.
