Ashburn Village is one of the largest planned unit communities in Northern Virginia with 5071 residential units comprised of single family homes, townhomes, condominiums, age-restricted townhomes, and apartments. Located approximately 33 miles west of Washington, D.C. and only minutes from Dulles International Airport, the community includes many resident amenities such as three neighborhood recreation centers with outdoor pools, tennis, basketball and multipurpose courts and meeting rooms; 10 tot lots; 12 miles of jogging and bike trails; ball and soccer fields; 2 elementary schools and 1 middle school; as well as over 500 acres of open outdoor space with six lakes and ponds that are stocked annually for fishing. In July, the Association hosts a brilliant display of fireworks on Lake Ashburn. Opened in 1988, construction in Ashburn Village is nearly complete with just one section remaining for residential development and two parcels for commercial/retail construction. When fully built the community will have approximately 2.5 million
square feet of planned commercial and office space. Presently a 200,000
square foot retail space, known as the Ashburn Village Center, provides
for shopping and services within minutes of all residents.
A portion of Northern Virginia’s 45 mile Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park bike trail runs through the community and offers homeowners the opportunity to travel along one the East Coast’s longest paved trails. The community also includes a wildlife preserve and butterfly park.
The Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion is the hallmark of the Ashburn Village community. With over 26,000 square feet of indoor space, the facility boasts indoor and outdoor olympic-sized pools and an outdoor wading pool; exercise, aerobic, and Advanced Training Center; sauna and steam room; full-size gymnasium with bleachers; racquetball, squash and enclosed lighted tennis courts for winter play; locker rooms; TV/lounge; pro-shop; nursery/daycare; and marina and pier for non-motorized boating.
The Pavilion offers a multitude of programs and events for both members and non-members including aquatics, indoor soccer, dance, social, fitness, personal training, youth programs, indoor and outdoor tennis just to name a few. The Pavilion also offers a summer recreation and sport camp program licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services as well as a myriad of after school programs offered year around. In September, the Pavilion grounds are transformed into a carnival-like atmosphere for VillageFest, an annual community celebration with rides, games, and fun-filled adventures for the entire family.
