Twenty-four hours a day, the Facilities and Grounds Department has responsibility for overseeing the common area property and facilities that comprise our 1580 acre community.  Did you know this includes, among other things, a community office with community vehicles, three neighborhood recreation centers with outdoor pools, tennis courts and meeting rooms; 12 miles of jogging and bike trails, ball and soccer fields; and over 500 acres of open outdoor space with seven lakes and one pond that are stocked annually for fishing?  Facilities and Grounds also oversees community street lights, over 33 miles of community-maintained roadways, numerous tot lots and a host of additional community amenities.  This department also performs and coordinates winter snowplowing within the community and manages many community service contracts such as trash and recycling, landscaping, and lighting.

Facilities and Grounds monitor's the appearance and overall quality of Pavilion Lake, Alder Lake, Beech Lake, Cedar Lake, Tippecanoe Lake, Lake Ashburn, Killawog Lake and Heron Pond.  This includes performing annual site inspections, recommending methods and practices to ensure water quality, and developing maintenance standards.

This department is also responsible for maintenance oversight of the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion building and surrounding grounds.
