Architectural
and Envrionmental Review (AERC)
The Architectural and
Environmental Review Committee (AERC) is a standing committee of the Board of
Directors and has jurisdiction over modifications, additions, or alterations
made on or to existing buildings, structures, lots or property. This committee
meets twice a month in the summer and once monthly during the winter to review
applications from homeowners who wish to change the exterior of their property.

Ashburn Village Governing Documents Review (AVGDR)
The Ashburn Village Governing Documents Review Committee (AVGDR) is an ad-hoc committee of the Ashburn Village Community Association (AVCA) Board of Directors. The BOD established the Committee at it's January 24, 2012 Board meeting. The purpose of this AVGDR committee is to review the AVCA governing documents and to make recommendations to the BOD for changes and updates to the documents. The committee meets on a monthly basis. Budget & Finance
(B&F)
The Budget and Finance Committee (B&F) is a standing committee of the
Board whose main purpose is to recommend a yearly budget to the Board of
Directors. To achieve this goal, the Committee reviews budget proposals
prepared by other standing committees, AVCA Management, and the General Manager
of the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion. Other committee duties include
developing the monthly assessment needed to support the proposed budget, as
well as periodic reviews of the current operating budget. The B&FC also
ensures that adequate reserve funds are retained, collected and allocated for
the purchase and maintenance of required capital equipment to include the
expansion, repair and refurbishment of community facilities. The committee
meets on a monthly basis. Residents with questions about this committee or

Facilities
& Grounds (F&G)
The Facilities and Grounds Committee (F&G) and the Lakes and Ponds
Committee (L&P) were combined to form one committee at the 1/24/12 Board of
Directors (BOD) Meeting. This committee will continue to provide
recommendations to the BOD regarding the maintenance and upkeep of all common
area land and facilities for which AVCA is accountable and responsible. In
addition, it will also provide recommendations to the BOD regarding the lakes
and ponds within the borders of Ashburn Village. The Committee will continue to
monitor the appearance and overall quality of the lakes and ponds, perform
annual site inspections, recommend methods and practices to ensure water
quality, and develop maintenance standards. The committee meets on a monthly
basis. Residents with questions about this committee or those who wish to

Neighborhood
Watch
The Neighborhood Watch Committee (NWC) is responsible for working with local
law enforcement and residents of the community to develop and maintain a
program of activities that have the ultimate goal of increasing the safety and
comfort of all residents while minimizing unsafe activities in the community.
This committee meets bi-monthly. Residents with questions about this committee
or those who wish to volunteer are encouraged to contact the Resident Services

Recreation
& Community Events (REC)
The Recreation and
Community Events Committee (REC) is responsible for developing and organizing
community events to improve the quality of life for all Ashburn Village
residents. The committee meets on a monthly basis. Residents with questions
about this committee or those who wish to volunteer are encouraged to contact
the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion at (703) 729-0581, x112.
Swimming
Committee (AVCSC)
The Ashburn Village Competitive Swimming Committee (AVCSC) is a standing
committee of the Association and was charted by the Board of Directors on
September 26, 2006. The overall goal of the AVCSC is to provide the Ashburn
Village Community with a healthy and vigorous competitive swimming program that
is well managed, offers diverse competitive programming, and is conducted in
well-maintained facilities. The AVCSC oversees the Ashburn Village Aqua Jets
and Blue Wave Swim Team programs on the behalf of the community and provides
recommendations to the Board on competitive swimming program changes and
improvements. Residents with questions about this committee or those who wish

Tennis
Committee (AVTC)
The Ashburn Village Tennis Committee (AVTC) is a standing committee of the
Association whose overall goal is to provide the Ashburn Village Community with
a healthy and vigorous tennis program that is well managed, offers diverse
tennis programming, and is conducted in well-maintained facilities. The AVTC
oversees the Ashburn Village tennis program on the behalf of the community and
provides recommendations to the Board on tennis program changes and
improvements. Meetings are held monthly. Any resident with questions about this
