*The Swim-A-Thon will be held on April 11, 2009! Older kids will swim from 6-8am with breakfast following, and younger kids will swim from 8:30am-10:30am with breakfast following.
As we develop more details we will let you know! On Feb 28 from 10am-noon we will hold a letter writing rally for the swim-a-thon at the Lakes pool house.
*There will be no swim practices on Mon. Feb. 16th due to the President's Day holiday (except for Pre-Senior 1 & 2) *We will be changing the date for the BWST banquet, please stay tuned for details!
The Summer Sessions (which will begin June 22) for Age Groups 1, 2, 3, and Pre-senior 1 & 2 will require additional paperwork that will be handed out closer to that time. Once we have more details regarding schedules and fees we will let you know!

The Blue Wave Swim Team is Ashburn Village's year-round swim team. The team is a member of Potomac Valley Swimming and USA Swimming. Under the leadership of Head Coach Mike Kraeuter, the team focuses on providing an enjoyable and complete swimming experience for swimmers of all ages and abilities so they can develop the character traits, technical skills, and intense desire necessary to reach their fullest potential as an individual and an athlete. It is the team's vision to support and motivate our members in attaining excellence in the sport of swimming and in life while creating an atmosphere where excellence is inevitable and fun!
The team is split into several age groups based on age and ability. The team offers a developmental program through both the Prep 1 and Prep 2 age groups. Practice days and times are based on age groups and range from two to nine sessions per week. Each swimmer is eligible to compete in several meets during the season.

Please email Coach Kira to receive the current 2008-2009 Registration materials. Please return registration forms to the AVCA office once they are filled out. All new swimmers to BWST need to have an evaluation done by Coach Mike or Coach Kira before they can join the team.
